Croton Oil Peel Tampa Bay, Florida

What is the Croton Oil Peel?

Say goodbye to brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles and hello to more youthful skin! Do you want to take your skin back to how it looked 10-15 years ago? If so, the croton oil peel may be for you! The croton oil peel (also called modified phenol peel or Hetter peel) is a chemical treatment that penetrates deeply into the skin. This peel is used to lessen the signs of aging by reducing wrinkles, sun damage, skin discoloration and even treats certain precancerous growths.

Only one treatment is needed with results that last. By improving the skin’s deep structures, sun-damaged and wrinkled skin is radically improved and tightened up to 30%. The croton oil peel is a specially formulated peel based on years of research.

The procedure is performed by Dr. Eberbach in about 45 minutes under general anesthesia. Dr.Eberbach is one of the few Board Certified Plastic Surgeons who specializes in the Croton Oil Peel. He uses various concentrations of a Croton oil for different parts of the face to target problem areas with deeper wrinkles. Dr. E feels that the Croton Oil Peel is the best option for surface damage of the face. Dr. Eberbach no longer recommends lasers for a number of reasons, including a less uniform result and a higher incidence of scarring.

The Croton Oil Peel can be done on the entire face for an overall skin rejuvenation, or only in localized areas such as under the eyes for “creepy” lower lids or around the mouth to remove the vertical smoker’s lines.

What are the advantages?

Advantages include less wrinkles and fine lines! You will have Less wrinkles around the mouth, crow’s feet, forehead furrows and cheeks. The Croton oil peels is impressive for peri-oral wrinkles (those around the mouth) and of the lower eyelids. These areas can be done isolated with much less recovery time.

Another advantage is tighter skin! Following this peel, patients will also show between 20 – 30% of facial skin tightening. The peel increases collagen and elastin that firms and tightens skin.

An additional advantage is a more even skin tone. Dermal layer penetration breaks down collections of hyperpigmentation for a more even skin tone, less age spots and less pigmentation problems.

You will see improved texture of your skin. This peel reduces deposits of dead/damaged skin cells and sebum to give an improved texture of the face.

This peel aids in removal of pre-cancerous growths. The skin is resurfaced and the peel can even eliminate certain pre-cancerous lesions.

You will look years younger! Will see dramatic affected and lasting surface rejuvenation of the face that can make you look 10-15 years younger.

How do I prep my skin?

For best results, patients should prep their skin 1 month prior to the procedure with Retin-A, Melamix and Melamin. Using these products prior to the peel helps give a more uniform peel and helps ensure the patient gets the best results possible.

Recovery

The croton oil peel is nearly painless postoperatively. Patients report the first few days that the affected area feels like a bad sunburn. Swelling is very common the first few days after the peel. Due to the redness and peeling, most patients will take an average of 10 days off from work. It takes the skin between 7-14 days to completely peel. During the peeling period, patients do vinegar soaks several times a day to help gently help the peeling process. After the peeling process, there is the pinkness of new skin that can last for several months (this can easily be covered by makeup).
