Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

A flat and well-toned abdomen is something many of us strive for through exercise and weight control. Sometimes these methods cannot achieve our goals. Abdominoplasty removes excess fat and skin, and in most cases restores weakened or separated muscles creating an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer. Liposuction of the abdomen and flanks (love handles) is also included with the abdominoplasty to ensure patients get the best result possible. A mini abdominoplasty can also be performed on patients who only have a little extra skin on the lower abdomen.

Body Lift

Body lifting is perhaps one of the most exciting advances in plastic surgery in years. The older techniques for buttocks lifting and thigh lifting causes unsightly scars and did not provide for true rejuvenation of the lower body. Lower body lifting as advocated by Dr. Ted Lockwood has transformed our ability to reshape the torso and legs. It can give new life to those with massive weight-loss, and restore a figure lost to the effects of gravity and age.

A lower body lift incorporates an abdominoplasty, liposuction of the entire trunk, liposuction of the circumferential thighs, thigh lifting, and buttocks lifting. It can be used for massive weight-loss patients such as those that have undergone gastric bypass, Lap band procedures or diet induced weight-loss. It also has its place in those who developed significant sagging or hang to their buttocks or cellulite caused by loose skin of the legs.

The incisions and resulting scars from body lifting are the same as for an abdominoplasty but do extend around the hips to the back. They are meticulously placed to be covered by a small bikini bottom swimsuit. This operation does require a hospital stay of between two and four days. This kind of surgery is truly transforming and does require a commitment on the part of the patient to maintain excellent health and appropriate body weight.

Body-Jet Water-Jet Assisted Liposuction

Experience the latest innovation in liposuction with Body-Jet! Water-Jet assisted liposuction is a simple cosmetic surgery procedure designed to simply wash the fat away with a gentle fluid spray.

Water assisted liposuction is the latest in liposuction technology. It can be applied to multiple areas of the body during the same session, and after the surgery you can feel the smoothed skin, without the pain and bruises found in standard liposuction procedures.

The Water-Jet Assisted Liposuction technique was developed to avoid the problems associated with tumescent infiltration used in standard liposuction procedures. Tumescent infiltration causes tissue swelling which lowers operative accuracy and can result in serious side effects. Body-Jet Liposuction gently washes away the fat without traumatizing other structures such as blood vessels and nerves.

Water-Jet liposuction has shown to be clearly superior to traditional methods because of the dramatically reduced session length and less pain. With Body-Jet Liposuction less manual pressure is needed to remove the fat and thus a simple local anesthetic can be used.

Referred to often by plastic surgeons and patients as ‘water lipo’ or ‘H2O lipo,’ this latest technology offers a new gentle technique for body contouring and body sculpting. Body-Jet liposuction offers patients a totally different experience from standard tumescent liposuction or even laser-assisted liposuction. Body-Jet liposuction offers the ultimate in fat removal with minimal downtime, fast recovery and excellent results.

Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)

Brachioplasty is a pretty straightforward procedure. It reduces the excess skin of the upper arms. The excess skin, sometimes referred to as bat wings, normally comes from massive weight loss or could simply be hereditary. Liposuction is used to empty out the excess fat and then the excess skin is also removed.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a wonderful tool. Chunky or heavy thighs, love handles, double chins and more can be eliminated with liposuction. It is a very safe and effective method of removing unwanted fat deposits from just about any part of the body. The result can be a slimmer, or flatter, or more sculptured body contour. It is often combined with other procedures such as abdominoplasty or lower body lifting provide an even better result.

Liposuction isn't for everyone however and there are inherent risks. This operative technique provides for often dramatic improvement in the patient's shape. Ultrasonic, tumescent, and power assisted techniques are variations on a theme and each have their place. Following surgery, you wear a snug, tightfitting "girdle" for several weeks. This reduces swelling and helps the skin shrink to your new body's shape. There can be some temporary bruising or skin discoloration after having liposuction. The area that is liposuctioned may also feel numb or firm to the touch for a short time. Overall, most patients can resume their normal day-to-day schedule within a few days.

The average healing time is about six weeks but contour changes may continue for many months. It is important to understand that liposuction is not a substitute for diet and exercise, nor a cure for obesity. To get the most from this procedure, you should be of average weight with extra fat localized to specific areas. Liposuction removes only fat, it cannot eliminate dimpling or correct skin looseness. These problems require some form of skin tightening such as an abdominoplasty, or thigh lifting for example.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure done to enlarge the breasts. A breast implant is either inserted behind the breast tissue or behind the chest muscle. There are two types of implants, one is saline (salt water) and the other is silicone gel (memory gel). The saline implant has more of a firmer feel and the silicone gel resembles more of a natural breast tissue. View the latest news and information on Breast Implants here.

Breast Reduction

Breast reduction is a surgical procedure to reduce the size of large pendulous breasts that are disproportionate to a woman’s body. Breast reduction improves breast size, shape and the associated conditions of large breasts, which can include: back, neck and shoulder pain caused by the weight of excess breast tissue, shoulder discomfort and indentation from bra straps, restricted physical activity due to breast size and the associated discomfort, skin irritation beneath the breast crease and more.

Gynecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)

Gynecomastia is a procedure to remove excess fat, glandular tissue of an over developed man's breast. Causes of gynecomastia range from heredity to taking certain types of medications. A man's chest can be most improved by removing the excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue. Liposuction can also be used if there is unwanted fat deposits that need to be remove

Mastopexy (Breast Lift)

Breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness, this can result from: pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, aging, gravity and heredity. A breast lift raises and firms the breast by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support a more youthful perky breast. Sometimes the areola becomes enlarged over time, these can also be reduced with a breast lift. A breast lift can rejuvenate your figure with a breast profile that is youthful and uplifted.

The excess skin is removed and the nipple is raised to its proper location. Occasionally, an implant is used to restore the size and contour as well.

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift)

A blepharoplasty is a procedure to remove excess skin from the upper and lower eyelids. Underlying fatty tissue that produces bagginess in the lower lids is either removed or repositioned. A blepharoplasty also improves the droopiness of the skin of the upper eyelids and gives the eyes a more rested appearance.

Brow Lift

Brow lifting alters the appearance of the forehead and brow area by raising the eyebrows, improving frown lines and smoothing out the forehead. This can be done in a variety of ways ranging from using and endoscopic technique with an implant or a less invasive approach by using Botox or Dysport

Face Lift

The appearance of facial aging varies from patient to patient. Some may find that as early as their late twenties they will develop some bulging fat in their lower eyelids, or fine lines at the corners of their eyes. Others may have congenital fat in their neck area to give them a double chin. Facial fat may atrophy causing the skin to sag while others develop a rounder fuller face.

The facelift generally involves treatment of the cheeks, the neck, eyelids, and brow. In addition, aging around the mouth can be a telltale sign that requires individual attention with a lip lift, corner lip lift, and resurfacing. Each of these individual areas can be addressed separately however a harmonious result can be better obtained by combining these procedures into a "complete" facial rejuvenation procedure.

The final result will be revealed some months following the surgery. Most patients are able to resume their normal business activities within two weeks.

Facial Fat Grafting

Facial Fat Grafting is becoming more and more popular.  Most people who think they may need a facelift, might only need facial fat grafting instead.  As we age, our faces lose volume.  A way to restore that volume is through facial fat grafting.  It is done by harvesting fat via liposuction from the abdomen, and then re-injecting it into the face.  By doing this, we can replenish, refresh, and renew your youthful contours of your face.  This can now also be done under a more local sedation rather than using general anesthesia.  It is also great to use as a filler under the lower eyelids.

Neck Lift

Neck Lifting is a common procedure most often combined with a face lift. Also known as a turkey neck, this is corrected by using liposuction to empty out the excess fat and then removing the excess skin. The muscles are then tightened and skin is redraped to create a more youthful neck and jawline.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty surgery changes the appearance and structure of the nose. Typically, a rhinoplasty reduces the size of the nose and changes the shape of the tip. It can also narrow the width of the nostrils and change the angle between the nose and upper lip. Ideal candidates for rhinoplasty surgery are generally patients with a nasal injury or a patient that is unhappy with their nasal structure. After rhinoplasty surgery, patients see a positive change in their facial appearance.

Juvederm

JUVÉDERM® is the first smooth consistency gel formulation and is clinically proven to last up to one year. JUVÉDERM® is developed using the proprietary HYLACROSS™ technology, an advanced manufacturing process that results in a malleable, smooth gel that flows easily in to the skin and creates a smooth, natural look and feel. All other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers currently on the market use a granular consistency gel.

These granules can be seen under 2.4x magnification when compared to the smooth consistency gel of the JUVÉDERM® dermal filler family of products. To provide physicians with the flexibility to tailor each treatment to the specific needs of the patient, there are two formulations of JUVÉDERM®. Product formulations include: JUVÉDERM® Ultra, a highly cross-linked formulation for more versatility in contouring and volumizing of facial wrinkles and folds; and JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus, a more highly cross-linked and thicker gel for volumizing and correction of deeper folds and wrinkles.

Perlane

Perlane is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to add fullness like your body’s own hyaluronic acid.

What makes Perlane different is the average size of the particles and the depth of injection. On average, the gel particles in Perlane are larger than those in Restylane, which makes Perlane a good choice for wrinkles that benefit from a deeper injection into the skin.

In three clinical studies of 150 patients each, on average 70% of patients maintained improvement for six months after just one Perlane treatment.

Restylane

Restylane adds volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds)

Restylane works immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. A clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid, Restylane is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid. So, you can use Restylane to visibly reduce moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds for a younger-looking you.
